On Ukraine, Crimea, Moscow and Washington
Recent events in Ukraine where Mr Viktor Yanukovich was overthrown by opposition groups lead by Mr Klitschko demonstrate at the same time the limits of Kremlins geopolitical leverage as well as Washington short sighted foreign policy because it didnt take into consideration Crimea sudden unrest supporting allegiance to Russia being this one a long standing and historical one. Nobody knows who will take hold of power in Ukraine after May 25th given the mess that the country has sank into and the ghost of radicalism and extremism threatening a possible new government. Russia will now try to outmaneuver the EU and Washington with Crimea prize not being this one the first time that the Kremlin agitates the powderkeg of seccesionism i.e Abkhazia and South Ossetia within the Georgi standoff fee years ago. I think the future for Ukraine unfortunately will be a separate one with two countries partitioned (one backed and financed by Brussels and the White House though not sure which will be the role of Berlin in this one) and the other one with Crimea being Russia's leverage to keep containment of further and future maneuvers by Washington to get ahold of Eurasia as a whole. And at the top of all energy, gas and oil remains the big deal underlying all these events.
