It seems that Ukraine has turned into the last prize to get by the Kremlin and the EU to close the circle. None of the rest of the former soviet republics has such that importance as Ukraine, given its tremendous geopolitical and geostrategic position in the eurasian landmass. It´s like if Mr Brzezinski and Mr Alexander Duguin are writing the scripts to follow by the White House, Brussels and Moscow, given the harsh and strong pushing against each other to control and hold positions in Ukraine, and the relevance that Mr Brzezinski and Mr Duguin pointed towards Ukraine as the highest pivot or buffer zone for Russia and Washington to conquer. In the energy field is where Ukraine has the most important role to play, first of all, because of the shale gas deposits discovered recently and the agreements signed by the Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) with companies like Chevron and SHELL to exploit fields of shale gas, which together with Poland could hit a hard blow to russian natgas business in Europe as an alternative source of energy. In this sense, Ukraine is very important for Brussels-Washington to join their forces in the way to reduce their dependence from Russia on natural gas supplies. As well as in Ukraine being a pivotal state for pipelines transit both for Russia and the ones financed by the European Union, where we have seen many and recurrent episodes of give and takes between Kyiv and Moscow on this subject and prices, highlighting the weight of Ukraine for Russia, at the end, to close lines against NATO and the EU, which both of them, needless to say have had aggresive postures against Russia in its sphere of influence. Now looks like some kind of a color revolution is taking place in the streets of Kyiv, which could be supported one way or the other by Brussels, because this could be the last chance to have Ukraine in their field. But for now, Russia seems to have won this zero sum game.
